In recognition of the role of research in enhancing the quality of life of older adults and people with chronic or terminal illnesses, Riverview Health Centre is once again sponsoring an annual research competition. Total funding of up to $15,000 is available to support projects that deal with significant issues facing the elderly, chronically ill, terminally ill, or those requiring rehabilitation.
There will be no Research Competition for 2018. Instead, in conjunction with Age-Well National Centre of Excellence and Mitacs, Riverview Health Centre has awarded funding to Dr. Elham Doltabdi, from Toronto Rehabilitation Institute - University Health Network. Her project is "Vision-based, ambient monitoring of gait and postural stability for short-term falls risk prediction in older adults with dementia residing in long-term care".
